Myagdi, June 25: Financial institutions are thronging in Myagdi district in recent days.
Being a gateway to the Himalayan district of Mustang, having tremendous hydropower potential and being a trade hub for western part of Baglung and northern part of Parbat district it has been the attraction to the large financial institutions.
Although there were only the Nepal Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank and some headquarters- centered cooperatives, large banks and financial institutions have expanded their branches with the start of the peace process in the country few years ago.
The district being the most remittance-attracting district in Dhaulagiri zone has attracted so many financial institutions, said branch manager of the Paschimanchal Finance Ganesh Prasad Poudel.
Kasthamandap Development, IME finance, Citizens' Bank, Bank of Kathmandu, Nepal Share Markets and Prabhu Finance are the new banks here. Nilgiri Bikas Bank is the first bank in Dhaulagiri with headquarters in Beni.
