FINANCE MINISTER SEES POLITICAL INSTABILITY AS A CHALLENGE


Lalitpur, Aug. 7: Minister for Finance Barsha Man Pun has said that expected reforms have become difficult in economic activities due to political instability.

Addressing a district-level progress review programme of the Lalitpur District Development Committee on Tuesday, the Finance Minister said investment as much as expected has not been made despite commitments to foreign assistance.
Pun said that income level and income growth of commoners should be increased to develop the country's economic sector.

He said the development projects are required to uplift the lower class and the unemployed.
On the occasion, Minister Pun expressed confidence that further progress would be made in the ongoing projects after the review meeting to make them more effective.
The Finance Minister recalled that one-third budget was brought due to absence of a national consensus on full budget.

Speaking at the programme, Local Development Officer of Lalitpur Raj Bahadur Shrestha said that ownership of the completed projects was a matter of big challenge
